These we’re used at the entrance to the Esso Petrol Stations in the UK to welcome you in and persuade you to.fill up with their fuel.

The popular Esso mid 1960’s campaign was heavily promoted by a large volume of TV, poster and radio advertising. There were key rings, children’s Tee shirts, bumper stickers, petrol cap tiger tails, colouring books and inflatable tigers amongst the many different give aways and sales that  made this one of the most successful advertising campaigns in the world.

Beautifully crafted plastic tiger heads in various forms throughout the world replaced the glass globes atop the vintage petrol pumps which are now highly collectible 

Made of a thick painted heavy hardboard so very few are now known to exist intact in this condition at 60 Years Old.
